Considering I’ve had my PayPal account for at least 8 years, I’ve never had any fraud with it. However, this past Thursday, I got an email for at $115 payment sent from my account to someone in Vietnam. Obviously, I didn’t make this purchase/payment.
The good news is that PayPal saw this activity and shut down my account before anything else could happen. They sent me an email with alerts, telling me to change this, that and the other thing. I field the dispute and within 24 hours, they ruled in my favor and the money was back in my account.
The one thing I learned from this is that the more you’re trying to marketing your site, the closer you need to pay attention to making sure you change up your login information frequently. I now have a reminder in my calendar to change my password on a few important sites every month.
